Miguel Ocampo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1922. He studied Architecture, and in 1947, studied painting with renowned artist Vicente Puig. In 1948, he travels to Europe, where he meets fellow artists Georges Braque and Andre Lhote, and held his first solo exhibition in Paris, in 1950.
Years later he became a Diplomat, and lived in Rome, Paris and New York, throughout these years, his abstract paintings were inspired by the Argentinean landscape.
In 1982 he is awarded the Premio Konex, in Argentina.
He passed away in Cordoba, Argentina, in 2015.
