Marta Minujin was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1943. In 1960, after receiving a scholarship, she moves to Paris, where she creates her first happening, called “La Destruccion”. She also receives the Guggenheim Foundations Grant as well as the Rockefeller Foundation Grant.
She is popularly known for her emblematic artwork, and as she likes to say: “we defined ourselves as pop, por art, popular art that everyone can understand, happy art, fun art, comic art. It is not an art that necessarily needs to be understood, it just needs to be liked”.
