Ana Fabry was born in Córdoba, Argentina, in 1963, she now lives and works in Santa Fe, Argentina. She has exhibited her work mostly in Argentina, Venezuela, United States and United Kingdom.
Fabry’s paintings echo some of the main themes that are commonly found in Contemporary Latin American art. These include the power of the memory: the tug of war between tradition and modernity; and the making and preservation of a collective sense of history. She touches upon these subjects in both elusive and allusive ways: by hinting at a childhood recollection with little more than images of buckets and butterflies, or of children in school uniforms, by lifting a curtain on puzzling narratives that appear to still be unfolding.
