Hernán Marina was born in Buenos Aires in 1967. His work encompasses different media, from sculpture to performance and video. He has presented his work in numerous galleries and museums in Argentina and abroad: MALBA, MALBA Puertos, Fundación Telefónica, Museo Moderno, Museo Castagnino, Museo Reina Sofía, Teorética, among others. His work is represented in national and international collections.
The work is linked to his large-scale site-specific interventions, distinctive of his production. At the same time, it dialogues with his sculptural and object-based series dedicated to athletes and swimmers, where he develops an oxymoron by fixing the image of movement in stillness, turning gesture into an outlined silhouette.
