Born in Salta, Argentina in 1948, Caloi was a cartoonist and comic artist. His drawings appeared in numerous publications such as Revista Análisis, Clarín newspaper and the sports magazine El Gráfico. In 1973 he created his most famous character: Clemente.
Throughout his career he received multiple awards such as the Konex Award for Plastic Arts in 1982 and 1992. In 2014 Clemente was named "Cultural Heritage of the City" and Caloi "Outstanding Personality of Culture" and "Distinguished Citizen of C.A.B.A.".
