Elena Nieves was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1967. She studied Fine Arts at the Escuela Nacional Prilidiano Pueyrredon in 1990. In 1996, she held her first solo exhibition, “Aire del agua”, and started taking part in the nationals and international art scene. In 1999 she received the Excelencia Cultural en Artes Plasticas Award, on behalf of the Secretary of Culture of Argentina. Between 1994 and 2009 she assisted the Argentinean artist Luis Felipe Noe, and collaborated in the artist’s participation in the 53rd Venice Biennale.
The artist constantly experiments with different media such as painting, drawing, and video installations.
